“At its Oct. 16 meeting, the Board of Education proposed an estimated tax levy 5 percent above the previous year. The district cautiously levies higher than the amount it will likely receive under the tax cap in an effort to safeguard future property tax receipts. As required by law, a public hearing will be held at the Board’s next meeting on Nov. 6.” – District 220 News Release
The November 6 meeting begins at 7:30 PM at Barrington High School, and a total of fifteen minutes for public comments is scheduled according to the agenda which can be downloaded here. Also, a very brief presentation explaining the proposed increase is available, and it can be downloaded here.
