We can’t remember the last time our Village government has issued a general survey asking residents for their opinions on Village matters. Given the recent contentious issues of exterior lighting and commercial horse boarding in our Village, it is doubtful any resident survey will be forthcoming from the current administration (unless it’s after the April elections), so the editors of The Observer decided it’s about time we ask residents for their opinions.
This Monday, October 22, The Observer will be publishing a link to our 2012 Barrington Hills Resident Survey. This 22 question, multiple-choice questionnaire will be delivered online as opposed to paper-based surveys distributed years ago by the Village. A key feature of our survey is it offers complete anonymity for the participants, since nothing needs to be faxed, mailed or dropped off anywhere. Email addresses or other personal information are not gathered from participants completing the survey.
In addition to posting the link, we will also be distributing invitations to participate via email to homeowners who may not yet read or subscribe to The Observer. This should insure that an objective cross section of the Village is polled.
The survey, which takes just 10 minutes to complete, will be available to residents from October 22 through October 28. Shortly thereafter, The Observer will share the results on this site. We look forward to hearing from you next week.

Good Move !
Excellent Idea!!
Looking forward to the opportunity to speak, which has been denied by Bob A.; hope this will be an incentive for candidates to come forward and file petitions in December. Then, it’ll be up to US to get behind them and replace Pres and BOT.
Just a comment and perhaps would not be accurate but is there somehow someway we can get an accounting of horse owners and the number of horses on the properties presently?
