Residents living in Cook County will be receiving their second property tax installment bill soon, and they are advised to sit down before opening them.
Cook County Clerk David Orr’s office issued a press release yesterday detailing percentage increases in tax rates from 2010 to 2011 for taxing bodies, and the following are the reported rate increases for Barrington Township residents:
- Cook County 9.22%
- Forest Preserve 13.73%
- Barrington Township 18.18%
- Village of Barrington Hills 14.23%
- Barrington School District 220 13.68%
- Barrington-Countryside Park District 17.65%
- Barrington Public Library 13.37%
- Harper College 13.22%
- Barrington-Countryside Fire District 14.52%
- East Dundee Fire District 16.23%
