Cook County commissioners have been known to yell and even curse at each other over the years, and the public now will get a chance to watch online as meetings unfold.
The proceedings have been a bit calmer under Board President Toni Preckwinkle, who announced the live-streaming Monday. Meeting video from the County Board, Forest Preserve District Board and county committee meetings will be streamed and also permanently archived online. The first one is Tuesday at cookcountygov.com.

Gee I wonder when we’ll see our village live stream the board meetings?
When we have a new administration!
If the Barrington Hills Board meetings were livestreamed, perhaps, they wouldn’t have so many FOIAs. but then, the regular agenda item of
Executive Session would still have to be dealt with. Any ideas out there?
I was under the impression from OMA that after reviewing past executive session minutes and agreeing that the content was no longer involved in matters of litigation or employment by the board of trustees – these minutes would then have to be made public. I’ve never seen anything but the destruction of these minutes here in BH – if this is true how can the board get away with this?
