The following vote counts reflect unofficial results with all county precincts reporting in from today’s referendum ballot question asking if our elected Village officials should negotiate electrical utility rates on behalf of Barrington Hills residents:
- Cook County – 225 Yes, 232 No
- Kane County – 7 Yes, 11 No
- Lake County – 64 Yes, 88 No
- McHenry County – 147 Yes, 137 No
Overall residents voted 443 in favor and 468 opposed. The Observer will comment on these results in the coming days.
I’d say the tide is finally turning – now if we can only keep the momentum until the next village election.
Guess we know where most of the Abboudites live………..
Aggregration was a referendum on the residents’ confidence in Abboud and the Village Board.
We don’t want Abboud controlling our electricity.
We want less government interference.
