The Village will be holding an open house tomorrow, March 14, at Village Hall between 3:00-7:00 PM for residents who would like to learn more about the Electrical Aggregation referendum. There is also a brief web page provided by the Village that includes questions and answers. To access this page, click here.
Electrical Aggregation Q&A tomorrow, March 14
March 13, 2012 by Barrington Hills Observer
Residents attending the open house should ask at least three questions:
1) How much better a rate can the municipality negotiate for us than those suppliers listed by CUB on their website? (The Observer posted a link to that information in an early article.) Looking at the Integrys presentation (also linked in the same article I think) to the Village, the other towns which already negotiated rates aggregators only achieved the same rate as individuals already can. Where’s the benefit?
2) How much is this aggregation process going to cost the taxpayers? Something in the Integrys literature indicated the hiring of a consultant. What’s that going to cost us? Who is the consultant? A friend of Bobby’s? Any new legal fees associated? Knowing BH, probably!
3) Bobby works in the energy field and probably works for a lot of the suppliers, so is he going to recuse himself from any discussions of aggregation due to an actual or perceived potential conflict of interest if the referendum passes? He should recuse himself, but I bet he won’t!
Bottom line: do your homework, get a good rate for yourself and vote NO on the referendum!
Thank you Observer – I may be premature with my prediction but your concise and informative article educated all of us – looks to me as though the referendum did not pass. Once again we residents owe you a big ‘thank you’………….
