The Barrington Hills village board voted 6-1 this week in favor of a $1 per year lease for the Barrington Area Council of Governments to move its offices into village hall.
The nine-member BACOG board is expected to accept the lease at its meeting next Tuesday.

Kudos to Pres. Abboud and his 5 loyal trustees for holding firm and demanding $35/month from BACOG for use of Barrington Hills Village’s office equipment. That seems like more than fair compensation for providing BACOG with free rent, utilities, parking, etc.
The fiscal responsibility of these 6 board members should be remembered by all their constituents at the next election.
Completely unacceptable!
I’m not sure we have to wait until then – whispers have it that the ‘end’ is near………and not a moment too soon.
Rescuing the damsel in distress is just one more example of Abboud’s largesse, at our expense, Letters to the editor, photo ops, praise for non existent accimplishments to prop up a failing agency iisn;’t going tio cut it, The village “brand” as Pres A refers to has been reduced to something more akin to a job fair. What next, want ads in the Village Newsletter? Can we start with “Vacancy; Village President; applicants may apply.” (Better hurry before Abboud’s presidency provokes more disconnections)
