Most Barrington Hills trustees Monday ultimately supported Village President Robert Abboud’s commitment of office space at village hall to cut rental costs for the Barrington Area Council of Governments, despite earlier criticism that he’d made a promise without their vote.
Only Trustee Harold “Skip” Gianopulos voted against preparation of a two-year lease agreement to be approved Feb. 24. But Trustee Elaine Ramesh initially favored a $5,000 break in BACOG dues as well in exchange for the village housing the council.

Save BACOG $20,000 – here’s a suggestion…..why not cut Janet Agnoletti’s salary? Just how much does she make as a part time employee for BACOG? That’s normally what a business does when faced with a similiar situation. This question was never asked. I’d take her gig in a heartbeat – minus one aspect………….
Agree with “Looking,,,”; Abboud insults us with his lame fabrications for housing BACOG. Returning “favors” is not necessary; that should be part of BAC0G’S’s function, though I seriously doubt any testimony from BACOG/Agnoletti carries much weight in Springfield, or anywhere else, Her presentations are weak and pretentious. As to space in the Village Hall, at the rate records are being destroyed by the Board, “freeing up space”, the V Hall may soon be empty, with the exception of the Pres, sitting in his office, with gavel in hand, and special counsel at his side, Abboud’s largesse is a socialist approach, spending other people’s money.
P.S. If I were So. Barrington, I’d tell Mr. Abboud to take a hike.
