Countryside Association will be holding an electronics recycling drive this Friday, January 6, 2011, from 8:30 AM to 1:00 PM near Deer Park Town Center. Countryside Association is a 50-year-old private, non-profit organization serving children and adults with developmental and other disabilities.
Countryside will benefit from the recycling firm’s donation based on scrap values. Old usable cell phones dropped of will be forwarded to Cell Phones for Soldiers, a non-profit organization that will provide them to our deployed and returning troops, and Barrington Hills residents can take advantage of a reasonably close by location to recycle old electronics that refuse haulers and landfills will no longer take (effective January 1, 2012, waste haulers are prohibited from taking any electronic items included in normal garbage pickups).
