What was not included in this article is the fact that two committees had surplus/unspent monies for the year – Roads and Bridges and Beautification/Buildings. This surplus amounted to enough monies to cover the purchase of the necessary equipment as well as web hosting for one year. Therefore the ‘lack of financing’ arguement does not compute. The discourse about using excerpts from these videos as negative fodder in future political campaigns as a reason not to video the meetings certainly does not outweigh the benefits to the taxpaying residents.
Just wondering what other committees had surplus monies left – and what will be done with the already noted surplus? Or any other surplus for that matter.
