“The Barrington area’s water supply is unique because the seven BACOG villages are located on a shallow aquifer less than 500 feet deep. The aquifer has a high water recharge area to the west near Barrington Hills and a poor recharge area, believe to be because there are less permeable rocks and soil on the east side near Barrington. However, the water generally flows from west to east once it is underground in the aquifer, Agnoletti said.”
